Glasstops UK are a manufacturing and processing company that produce almost anything in flat glass, anything from worktops, mirrors and also fire rated glass products.
The company were spending colossal amounts on large wooden crates to pack and dispatch their products. This ensured safe delivery of the extreamely fragile items to the customer, however the costs and time to produce the crates and despatch were not efficient. A Google search of “bespoke boxmaking” took Managing Director, Daniel Dunwoody- Kneafsey to the company YouTube page.
Mr Dunwood-Kneafsey was impressed! A live demonstration on the BOXER BX200 was secured and we demonstrated the exact product sizes that Glasstops UK would use. To test the box durability during transit; a glass tabletop was packed and sent across the UK, and back to Glasstops UK. “The product was absolutely fine”. States Mr. Dunwoody-Kneafsey. The rest is history!
Their BOXER BX200 and TABLE-FEED TF200 was delivered in January 2021. A quick installation on a Tuesday, followed by boxmaking training and packaging actual deliveries on the Wednesday. Dunwoody-Kneafsey commented further, “Moving from timber to corrugated transforms our business. Even though our volumes aren’t huge the turnaround time and cost saved, compared to timber, offers us a rapid ROI.”
Sales manager at KOLBUS, Arran Sethi adds: “Some of Glasstop UKs’ products are 3500 mm x 1500 mm x 50 mm (LWH). Very awkward sizes and very often they would need just one bespoke style, size or grade of box at a time. The BOXER BX200 boxmaking machine can set jobs remotely within 60 seconds and doesn’t need an operator at the machine. There is minimal manual interaction. The Table-Feed will automatically feed the sheets and out pops the box. It is so simple and efficient”.
